Actuarial Analyst I 

American National is seeking a full-time Actuarial Analyst to assist the Actuarial team in the Galveston, TX office. The Actuarial Analyst will provide support to the Actuarial team by completing assigned tasks and special projects leading the team to success. Responsibilities 

  • Learn details of annuity products and pricing methodologies
  • Utilize actuarial modeling software for pricing and developing life products
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc pricing reports for senior management
  • Prepare and analyze data for monthly life rate setting
  • Analyze actuarial model assumptions
  • Make consistent progress in the Society of Actuaries examination process

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or related field
  • Completed at least one actuarial exam; two exams is preferred
  • Strong spreadsheet and/or database skills preferred
  • Must be comfortable working both independently and on a team
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate noted skills: Organization, Detail, and Effective time management
