Programmer Analyst

The Life/Annuity Systems Analysis Team within Application Development and Support is currently seeking candidates for the position of Programmer Analyst for our Galveston, Texas location.


Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Become skilled in the development of basic Visual Product/Modeling System (VP/MS) models to support the implementation and maintenance of life insurance products.
  • Create clear technical documentation that describes a VP/MS model’s functionality, as well as the associated attributes (inputs) and properties (outputs).
  • Unit test VP/MS models and assist with system testing and implementation of models in the policy administration and illustration systems.


  • Mathematics, Actuarial Science or IT-related bachelor’s degree, or a minimum three years of programming or developer experience is preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience working in the life insurance or annuity industry, including experience with life insurance or annuity administration or illustration systems, is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are necessary. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to function successfully with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with constant change.
  • Must be able to work occasional night and weekend hours.
