Programmer Analyst

 

American National is seeking a Programmer Analyst  for the Application Development and Support team. This position is for an entry-level developer and will be located in the Galveston, TX.  Candidates must exhibit a solid work ethic, high propensity to learn new technologies, and strong teamwork to be considered for this opening.  The Application Development and Support team at American National Insurance is committed to providing training and development to high aptitude individuals to fill this position.

 

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Build new business process applications and extend functionality for existing applications on the IBM Business Process Manager platform
  • Design, develop, test and deploy Java EE web services and applications running on IBM WebSphere Application Server
  • Resolve problems in a production environment

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent required
  • Experience coding in languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS and Angular is desirable
  • Must be self-motivated, team-oriented and able to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service and analytical skills are necessary
  • Must be able to work occasional night and weekend hours when required. On call rotation is required
