Quality Assurance Specialist

Quality Assurance Specialist 

The Life Insurance Administration Department is seeking a full-time team member, at the Galveston, Texas campus.


  • Ensure effective quality control measures are implemented in relation to banking information, tax deductions, and check review
  • Assess potential fraud indicators and alert appropriate individuals
  • Follow Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations when implementing control measures
  • Follow contractual guidelines which include (48) hour turnaround time frame for incoming requests
  • Adhere to internal organizational and department procedures/best practices
  • Adhere to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Two years of applicable work experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience/knowledge in life and annuity policies or insurance
  • Insurance and/or financial industry designation(s) or completed coursework toward such designations; such as LOMA’s ALMI and AIRC curriculum
  • Understanding of federal and state regulatory bodies and how they influence and mandate insurance industry compliance responsibilities
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively and professionally interact with employees, leadership, and external clients/representatives
  • Professional communication skills
  • Attention to detail, with ability to review data and identify inaccuracies
  • Must be an effective and organized multi-tasker, with the ability to adapt to a slower pace when items require your attention for review
  • Must be comfortable managing questions and requests regarding life and annuity plans with ease and confidence
    • American National will provide support and training
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Passion to provide the highest quality of customer service
  • Ability to navigate various computer programs simultaneously on dual computer monitors, while utilizing noted applications (Microsoft Office and internal systems, involving the input of critical disbursement information)
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Desire to continuously enhance current skills and develop
