American National is seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst.  This position partners with HR business partners, HR centers of expertise, and company leaders to provide support and administration of compensation programs and processes. As a member of the Total Rewards team, this position conducts research, analyzes critical information, and formulates recommendations in order to support major corporate initiatives and projects that span across the organization and have significant impact on employees.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Conducts market analyses and job evaluations, applying analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations using multiple sources of information.
  • Supports annual compensation cycle.
  • Provides support and direction in the completion of compensation surveys.
  • Administers and coaches leaders and HR members through salary action guidelines.
  • Provides guidance to leaders and business partners in career pathing and creation of job families.
  • Research and compiles data for salary budget and salary range movement recommendations.
  • Identifies compensation trends. Draws analyses and makes recommendations to improve business practices and policies. 
  • Identifies training and/or communication gaps with other HR teams or business areas and recommends or develops formal training and communications.
  • Analyzes complex data and takes broad perspective to identify solutions.


Qualifications:

  • Associates degree required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience accepted. Degree emphasis in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Four to six years of experience in total rewards (compensation and benefits) preferred (*another level may be substituted based on years of experience)
  • CCP designation preferred
  • Professional designation in HR or specialized field (SHRM-CP or SCP; PHR or SPHR) is desired at time of hire or expected to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • Intermediate conceptual knowledge of compensation theories, practices and procedures typically acquired through college or university degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Payfactors experience ideal
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to converse with all levels of employees
  • Ability to use sound judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making choices, recommendations, or decisions
  • Experience identifying opportunities for process and procedure enhancements to drive efficiency and increase service levels
  • Ability to handle data and information of a confidential or sensitive matters

 

Salary for this position can range from $57,759 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $86,638 for more highly qualified candidates.  Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
