American National insurance is looking for software developers to join the Application Development Architecture team in the next Service Oriented Architecture Adventure.  You'll have an opportunity to work on a variety of projects, initiatives, and challenges.  You'll work with other software development teams in building and crafting alignment API services and platforms.  Throughout your journey, you'll learn new skills, level up the organization, and work with a ton of great people.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other application development teams on service development efforts aligning to API Connect and IIB Integration Bus.
  • Support RESTful service development best practices and governance initiatives.
  • Participate in architectural design related to service-oriented architecture.
  • Code reliable and maintainable programs in service development languages and platforms within the purview of the team.
  • Perform unit and system testing using test plans and scripts approved by the business. Review test results with the supported application development team and makes necessary adjustments to the deliverable. Obtain approval and transfer deliverables to the production environment.
  • Participate in technical focus groups.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS or Computer Science OR four years programming experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a C# .Net programming environment preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript and Node.js a plus
  • Experience with SQL, MSSQL Server and/or DB2 on the z/OS or Windows platforms preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft TFS / Azure DevOps a plus.
  • Experience with IBM IIB Integration Bus and/or API Connect/DataPower a plus.
  • Familiarity with IBM z/OS Connect or Shadow Web Services a plus
  • Aptitude for designing and maintaining enterprise application architecture.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills required.
