American National is seeking a Life/Annuity Solutions Architect.  REMOTE option available! 

 

The Solutions Architect displays the ability and aptitude to learn the complex inner workings of a large policy administration system, and based on the provided business requirements, designs a creative, effective, and efficient solution within the system.  The Solutions Architect then translates that design into a documented technical specification that is appropriate for all audiences:  a programmer can code from the specification, and a business user can understand the changes to anticipate within the system.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Applies technical concepts and skills with knowledge of the company’s internal policies and procedures to research system functionality and to solve moderate-to-complex analysis and design problems in creative and effective ways
  • Produces high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Follows assignments through to completion
  • Completes assignments that extend to new technologies and business processes with little assistance from management
  • Collaborates with team members when designing solutions
  • Presents documentation, design solutions, and research findings in a manner that is clear, accurate and easily understood by the intended audience.
  • Provides optimal service to all internal and external customers

 

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of research and design experience as an applications Solutions Architect
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an application developer
  • Candidate must have a college degree
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Candidate must be a self-starter who is motivated and team oriented
  • Candidate must be able to operate successfully with minimal supervision
  • Candidate must be able to work occasional night and weekend hours to meet target dates

 

Preferences:

  • Candidate has experience in the life insurance industry or annuity industry
  • Candidate has application design experience in a life insurance policy administration system or an annuity administration system

 

Salary for this position can range from $63,610 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $79,510 for more highly qualified candidates.  Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
