Underwriter (Commercial/Agriculture)

American National is seeking a full-time, Commercial/Agriculture Lines Underwriter! As a Commercial/Agriculture Lines Underwriter, you will be responsibile for handling new business, communication with agents and other field support specialists, as well as visit the field. If you have excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a strong focus on attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and are interested in insurance industry designations to further your education and career, we invite you to apply today!

 

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming new business
  • Handle changes and renewals for business 
  • Identify any agent business practices
  • Calculate production, profitability and loss ratios 
  • Respond to agent inquiries via email or phone call 
  • Visit the field, as needed
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, bachelors degree preferred
  • Must have previous underwriting experience 
  • Must hold or be willing to earn insurance industry designations (AINS, CPCU, etc.)
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy 

Salary for this position can range from $55,230.00 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $82,845 for more highly qualified candidates.  Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education.”
