CIF Associate Underwriter I (Remote Option)

American National is hiring for a CIF Associate Underwriter. CIF Associate Underwriters manage frontline communication and requests from the field force, building and maintaining professional relationships.

 

Responsibilities

• Assumes processing responsibility for assigned states, processes account changes via the computer system, reviews account information, and researches cashback questions.

• Finalizes data entry and authorizes the issuance of policies via the computer system.

• Maintains a working knowledge of the American National policy and account systems.

• Maintains an understanding of state guidelines, including Cashback rules, risk scores, account splits, combining accounts, and updates to underwriting guidelines and rating factors.

• Reviews required documentation for account changes, following up with underwriters and modifying accounts when applicable.

• Reviews unbound new business for accuracy, determines if the account meets eligibility guidelines, and accepts, rejects, and/or adjusts as necessary.

• Assumes responsibility for incoming inquiries via phone, email, and fax from agents and others; handles overflow phone inquiries via the phone system.

• Instructs agents on company guidelines and procedures; acts as an available resource to agents daily.

• Researches agent service problems/issues to their conclusion, which may include communication across departments.

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma.

• No experience required.

• Supervisory/management experience not applicable

 

PREFERENCES:

• Associate degree preferred.

• Prior work experience in banking, administration, or customer service positions desired

 

Salary for this position can range from $29,000 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $43,000 for more highly qualified candidates.  Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education.
