Claims Representative (Auto)

Claims Representative (Auto)

The auto claims department is seeking a full-time, Monday-Friday team member, who is passionate about the client experience


How you will make an impact

  • Manage auto claims that are less complex, typically one vehicle losses (Hit and run, hail, and deer damages)
  • Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of auto claims
  • Partner with internal departments, vendors, and defense counsel, when-applicable throughout the claim process
  • Analyze coverage, make contacts, investigate facts surrounding the loss, and arrange inspection, experts, and third parties when applicable
  • Negotiate loss settlements and determine the appropriate method of inspection and/or the appropriate claim decision based on the review of facts
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while expediting claims and adhering to the fair claims’ settlement practices
  • Work within multiple systems such as Fusion (Internal claims system) estimating, tracking, and workflow systems
  • Enter data into appropriate systems to establish liability based upon the review of facts
  • Understand and comply with insurance regulations, statutes, and case law
  • Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and requirements, provisions of policy contracts, and company standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year completed degree in related field or equivalent industry work experience
  • Work experience in customer service, claims handling, or insurance
  • Currently hold an active (Rhode Island) adjuster license or have interest in obtaining, following date of hire (American National will incur fees associated/No out of pocket expenses)
  • Effective and organized multi-tasker, with ability to focus when items require your undivided attention for review
  • Comfortable managing difficult conversations with ease and confidence while maintaining a helpful and friendly disposition
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and organizational skills
  • Aptitude to navigate various computer programs simultaneously on dual monitors (Using Microsoft Office applications and internal systems)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Attention to detail and follow-up
  • Passion to provide the highest quality of service to clients, possessing pride when managing ownership of claims
