Network Security Analyst


American National is seeking an Network Security Analyst to join our team!


 Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Analyze security logs and related security events. (Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) monitoring.)
  • Maintain and monitor company’s perimeter, platform and endpoint feeds into the SIEM.
  • Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents.
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.
  • Evaluate security aspects of systems changes.
  • Maintain and monitor the company’s security subsystems.
  • Monitor and ensure security controls effectiveness.
  • Ability to work safely in work areas.
  • Understand modern digital communications.
  • Analyze network structure.
  • Develop background on intelligence topics.
  • Use advanced analytical tools in multiple operating system environments.
  • Execute query techniques.
  • Conduct independent research and coordinate results with other analysts in other disciplines across the enterprise.
  • Prepare and present cybersecurity findings to help satisfy business and customer requirements.


Minimum Requirements and Preference:


  • Degree in Math, Science, Computer Science or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Preferred knowledge of network management and security management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with security subsystems (e.g. firewalls, VPN servers, IDS/IPS, etc.) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of all security areas of significance to IT (e.g. servers, desktops, voice, Internet, and web technologies) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PC, server and network technologies.
  • Must be able to work occasional night and weekend hours when required. On call rotation may be required.
