American National is seeking a Product Manager for our Glenmont, NY location.  This role will develop, communicate and execute product strategy throughout the organization to achieve profit and growth objectives, and drive key initiatives to address product strategy and profitability objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze regional or line of business results to identify trends and issues
  • Collaborate with regional leaders and other internal groups to measure and monitor performance of both growth and profitability
  • Research and analyze competitor products and develop and execute plans for competitor and market research and analysis
    Make recommendations for development of product enhancements based upon competitor and field review
  • Assist in coordinating the development of new products and product changes and  collaborate with marketing to identify areas of focus and opportunity
  • Develop and execute long-term business product plans that drive profitable growth at the local market level
  • Function as a technical resource to leadership, lead cross-functional strategy teams, and develop annual growth plans by field personnel, state, region and line of business
     

Qualifications:

  • 4 year completed degree required.
  • Minimum of two years' in a Product Development position or five years’ work experience in Underwriting, Marketing, Claims, or Actuarial
  • Working knowledge of personal lines insurance preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, management and other personnel
  • Ability to work independently with excellent organization skills and initiative
  • Positive attitude and continued desire to improve
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and manage high pressure situations
  • Ability to travel occasionally, as needed
