User Experience Specialist II

American National is seeking an experienced User Experience (UX) Specialist for any of the corporate locations.  This role collaborates with internal business areas to define the next generations of business concepts and solutions, including implementing strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features for our client facing digital platforms.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Project Managers, business areas and the UX/UI Design team regarding requirements and scheduling, basic presentation concepts, and budget estimates for projects
  • Assists with conducting UX and Technology audits and research
  • Synthesizes research findings to provide a better understanding of customers/clients, provide insight into business value, and identify potential usability issues and design opportunities.
  • Designs screen mockups and low fidelity wireframes based on the results of usability testing, research and customer feedback.
  • Communicates analysis, recommendations, and potential design solutions verbally and through documentation to key stakeholders including product managers, IT, and other UX/UI Design team members
  • Advocates for the end user by influencing decisions to ensure that product and design decisions are aligned with user needs and expectations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product), Computer Science, Human Sciences or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in conducting user experience related research, practicing user-centered design, UX development or testing.  (Or any other degree or certification and 7-12 years’ experience in conducting user experience related research, practicing user-centered design, UX development or testing.)
  • Experience using Agile methodologies, TFS, Microsoft Teams
  • Deadline-driven, adaptable to changing priorities, and continuous learning mindset
  • Diplomatic approach to collaboration with other teams towards a common goal
