Entry Level Data Warehouse Administrator/Developer



  • Manage user access and security standards to ensure that all systems comply with American National security guidelines.
  • Analyze performance metrics for servers, applications, and processes and tune them for efficiency.
  • Capacity and resource planning for current and future systems.
  • Perform installation, maintenance and upgrades tasks for all systems.
  • Engage vendor support when needed in order to resolve issues.
  • Assure that all jobs used to back up and recover data run efficiently and are completed successfully.
  • Assure that backup and recovery techniques are adequate to protect corporate data resources.
  • Maintain current error monitoring processes as well as providing a proactive approach to error handling, troubleshooting and mitigation.
  • Assist development personnel in establishing and maintaining operational and efficient environments.
  • Determine the Optimal Approach for Obtaining Data from Diverse Source System Platforms and moving it to the Data Warehouse.
  • Create Testing Methodology and Criteria.
  • Investigate, analyze, document, and correct reported defects.
  • Populate the Data Warehouse using Data Modeling Techniques for Target Structures such as Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and Highly Normalized Data Models.
  • Interpret written business requirements and transform into technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain technical specification documentation.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.




First and foremost, we require individuals with outstanding communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical ideas to non-technical people.   Additionally, they should also possess as many of the following as possible:

  • General understanding in SQL query development.
  • Experience in Software Development.
  • Basic understanding of Extract Transform Load (ETL) concepts and technologies.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing tools, patterns and processes.
  • Knowledge of General Database design.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent Interpersonal, Written, and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Excellent Technical Documentation Skills.
  • Ability to present and deliver analytical/conceptual ideas in a professional manner.
  • Ability to function, prioritize, and execute tasks in high-pressure altering environment.
  • Ability to Self-Direct with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to Conceptually understand the direction for the organization’s objectives and goals.
  • Perform any other delegated duties considered appropriate in order to maintain the efficient running of the department.
  • DB2 experience a plus.
  • Familiarity and experience with any of the following is a plus:
    • Scripting languages (Powershell, Python, T-SQL)
    • Windows functionality/services/security
    • Basic DBMS/DW functionality and structure
    • DBMS connectivity (ODBC/JDBC, application connection strings)
    • Reporting tools (Cognos, Power Bi, etc.)
    • MS SQL Server, MS SSIS, MS SSAS
    • MS Azure products suite
    • Netezza
