Regional Sales Manager

American National is seeking a Regional Sales Manager based anywhere in the United States.  The position exists to manage and develop district sales managers, market managers, and account executives/enrollers, also known as independent agents (IAs). The position has supervisory responsibilities of district sales managers, market managers, and IAs. This position will have production goals assigned to meet yearly and fiscal requirements during a portion of the divisional budget as it applies the district sales managers, market managers, and IAs. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, hires and trains all new and existing district sales managers, market managers and IAs to assigned regions of responsibility
  • Solicits, wins, sets up and enrolls new direct account (clients) to the division through district sales managers, market managers and IAs
  • Negotiates with interested groups for terms that will be profitable for Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company
  • Establishes themselves as the “face” of American National in the assigned regional market, representing the organization in the highest standard possible
  • Works with new groups and administrative people to help them through the initial setup, startup, enrollment, and billing stages, while continuing to service each account and broker through district sales managers, market managers, IAs, as well as directly themselves
  • Provides product and procedure training to district sales managers, market managers and IAs
  • Maintains ongoing profitable and growing relationships with the clients of the Work Site Division of American National.
  • Manages, trains and coaches district sales managers, market managers, and their teams 
  • Manages the production within the direct channel
  • Maximizes the exposure opportunity for American National Work Site across the work site industry and its clients, the community, and the overall work site industry
  • Provides reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, as needed
  • Attend any meetings, conventions, or other industry-related gatherings

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Three to five years of experience in sales and managing other district sales managers, market managers, IAs, and direct work site channel distributions
  • Must achieve a quota in their current position for at least two consecutive years
  • Must be able to work on a tight timeline
  • Positive outcomes are a must with regards to sales and marketing
  • Experience in expense reporting
  • Experiences with profit and loss (P&L) and budgets up to $2 million

 

Salary for this position can range from $78,025 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $97,531 for more highly qualified candidates.  Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
