Senior Regional Sales Director

The Regional Sales Director develops and manages a multi-distribution division designed to deploy a marketing and sales strategy to maximize the Worksite Sales platform. It is a national position with supervisory responsibilities over the Regional Directors, District Managers, Market Managers, Account Executives, and Enrollers, Top 100 Marketing Groups, phones sales team, administration team members when needed. The position will have production goals assigned to meet yearly and fiscal requirements over the entire Account Executive (Direct) division’s budgetary expenditures and return on investment.



  • Assign budgets to the proper Regional channels.
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain the distribution channels to ensure the cost-based module is being met.
  • Develop plans and strategies for developing business and marketing strategies in the effort to achieve the Account Executive (Direct) division’s sales goals.
  • Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
  • Manage the Regional Directors (Regional Sales Managers), sales teams, operations, and resources to deliver profitable growth.
  • Define the optimal sales force structure.
  • Define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets.
  • Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives.
  • Put in place further field infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function.
  • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs.
  • Recruit, Hire, and Train effective Regional Directors (Regional Sales Managers), District Sales Managers, Market Managers, Account Executives, and Enrollers.
  • Deploy strategies to win over small to mid-level brokers.
  • Work in conjunction with the Broker Channel to facilitate profitable sales plans and growth.
  • Continually evaluate field compensation plans to ensure profitability on products being sold.
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
  • Facilitate and oversee the negotiation with interested group for terms that will be profitable for Standard Life and Accident.
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships.
  • Travel for in-person interviews, training, and any other field leadership responsibilities not stated here.
  • Maintain ongoing profitable and growing relationships with marketing groups across the division including maintaining budgetary expenditures for her/his area of responsibility and those their span of control.
  • Maximize the exposure opportunity for American National Worksite across the worksite industry and its marketing partners and field staff.
  • Work effectively with all internal management teams of the Health Division.



  • College Degree is preferred but will consider a high school diploma coupled with 5 years’ experience of Worksite level management experience lieu a college degree.
  • Life, Health and Accident License.
  • Three or more years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Ability to accommodate at least 80% nationwide travel with frequent overnight stays.
  • Ability to make frequent and consistent financial decisions to ensure successful and profitable sales growth.


  • Experience in POP plan set-up and documentation.
  • Foundational understanding of core benefits.
