American National is currently seeking a Programmer Analyst to join our team!  The Application Development and Support team at American National Insurance is committed to providing training and development to high aptitude individuals to fill this position.  The candidate will be working in the Agent Solutions department providing support and working on projects improving the experience for our agents.  If you are graduating soon, we welcome you to apply!  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new, accurate, effective & efficient programs from specifications provided to you
  • Maintain existing programs by keeping them current with changes requested through specifications provided to you
  • Thoroughly unit test all code changes
  • Communicate with the business community in any stage of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Contribute ideas that will better help the company leverage its applications/data
  • Resolve problems in the production environment
  • Continue your professional development by taking relevant insurance, technical, and/or project management classes

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS or Computer Science preferred
  • Will be trained in J2EE and single-page development using Angular
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, e.g. Excel, Word and Outlook
