American National is seeking a Manager of Enterprise Risk Management Analytics for our Springfield, MO corporate location.  This role will be responsible for enterprise risk management (ERM) initiatives, with projects leading capital / catastrophe modeling and exposure management. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of actuarial principals, present a professional image, possess the ability to work effectively with others, have innate organizational skills, and be self-driven.  Prior management experience is not required, but the ideal candidate has an aptitude for leadership and a desire to grow as a people-leader.



  • Schedule, direct, and execute projects
  • Use risk modeling to inform ERM decisions and monitor capital levels
  • Develop, report, and refine catastrophe model output
  • Develop and report internal capital model output
  • Enhance internal capital model methodologies
  • Liaise with personnel from various departments
  • Develop and refine methodologies, processes, and support the presentation of such efforts to leadership, regulatory authorities, reinsurance intermediaries, reinsurers, rating agencies, and other applicable parties
  • Lead a small team of actuarial analysts and modelers



  • 4 year completed degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field required
  • 5-7 years’ actuarial experience
  • ACAS/FCAS designation preferred
  • Supervisory or project lead experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to apply and communicate actuarial principles is essential
  • Strong experience with Excel, Access, and SQL
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to converse with all levels


*Candidate qualifications will determine the appropriate leadership title- Supervisor, Manager, Director.
