American National’s is seeking a hungry-to-learn Mail Clerk to join Team!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform interoffice mail runs throughout American National facilities.
  • Sort and prepare mail into designated bins by name and office code.
  • Maintain accurate addresses for all Agency and Regional Directors.
  • Ensure proper labeling of envelopes and apply necessary postage using postage machines.
  • Package outgoing orders in preparation for UPS, USPS and FedEx.
  • Maintain mailing documentation for future reconciliation.
  • Assist in the unloading and sorting of daily incoming mail for internal distribution.
  • Operate letter opening machines and date stamp each individual piece of mail.
  • Follow established company and USPS policies, procedures and regulations. 
  • Help load, unload, stock, re-stock and deliver supplies.
  • Perform daily long-term storage tasks; shredding, recycling, archiving, physical transfer and storage in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist in various work activities in the Mail-insertion area including manual hand-stuffing of envelopes.
  • Perform courier runs using company vehicle as required.
  • Load, unload, and drive courier routes according to guidelines and schedule.
  • Handle certified-mail bags per company accepted security procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Basic sequencing skills for alphanumeric filing duties.
  • Able to lift 80 pounds consistently.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Able to stand for long periods, work varying shifts, days, nights, or weekends to meet business requirements.
  • Class E Driver License
  • Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills including fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Certified forklift and pallet jack operator.
  • Experience in operating computerized postage equipment, electronic scales, UPS system, copier or fax machine.
  • Basic understanding of USPS regulations, mailing standards and required postage application.
