REMOTE OPTION: Manager, Claims (Bodily Injury)

How you will make an impact

  • The Auto Claims Department is seeking an experienced claims professional to lead and mentor mid-senior level, injury auto adjusters (First and third party)
  • Oversee daily business operations (Interviews, onboarding, performance counsel, monitoring time sheets, and ensure deadlines/goals are discussed, met, and/or exceeded)
  • Partner with leadership team(s) to support open communication that is focused on increasing/enhancing productivity, improving workflow processes, and maintaining/sustaining positive morale
  • Responsible for team adjusting activities, training programs, business proposals, technical results, quality, vendor management, and procurement
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and ongoing training regarding technical claims issues, while also responding to client concerns
  • Partner with employees to discuss and create developmental plans for heightened progress
  • Oversee and operate within an allocated budget
  • Prepare and submit reports to leadership team(s)
  • Conduct quality assurance audits on open and closed claim files to ensure compliance with company guidelines and state laws/regulations
  • Achieve and exceed both organizational and departmental goals
  • Ongoing evaluation of current processes and procedures to enhance efficiency
  • Manage after-hours claims phone line between one/two times yearly *One-month rotation (Example Call: Claimant requests to speak to a manager)
  • Safeguard prompt reserving within company guidelines
  • Review and approve settlement authority
  • Guarantee that team members provide prompt, accurate, and equitable claims service   

 
Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Auto claims adjusting experience
  • Currently hold an active (Texas) adjuster license or obtain within three months following date of hire (American National will incur fees associated / No out of pocket expenses)

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four year completed degree in related field (Criminal Justice, Insurance and Risk Management, Business, Communications)
  • Five years auto claims adjusting work experience (Bodily Injury included)
  • Internal supervisory, management, or formal training work experience
  • Enrollment, active participation, or completion of Ascend and/or Leads program
  • Completed industry designations (AIC, AIM, AIS, ARM, CISR)
  • Working knowledge of CCC or alike valuation programs
  • Understanding of statutes, case laws, and auto policy contracts
  • Effective and organized multi-tasker
  • Comfortable managing difficult conversations with ease and confidence
  • Maintain and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills, successfully creating/maintaining professional relationships
  • Ability to utilize critical analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Ability to effectively manage time and provide appropriate follow-up
  • Ability to navigate various computer programs simultaneously while utilizing noted applications (Microsoft Office and internal systems)

 

Salary for this position can range from $76,600 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $95,750 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education.
