Property Claims Representative (Tenant Policies)

Property Claims Representative (Tenant Policies)

American National is seeking a full-time (Monday-Friday) industry or construction professional, with the aptitude to organize, investigate, negotiate, and settle tenant property claims.

 

How you will make an impact

  • Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of moderate level complexity (first party) tenant property claims
  • Review notices of loss to determine/confirm proper coverage and deliver resolution
  • Conduct detailed phone investigations to determine damages, obtain recorded statements, review police reports, assess the appropriate method of inspection, and provide thorough follow-up
  • Determine suitable method of inspection, assigning estimates, and proper vendors
  • Negotiate loss settlements based on the review of facts
  • Establish and maintain proper reserves
  • Communicate and promote professional relationships with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and internal department(s) regarding the ongoing status of claims files
  • Draft professional written correspondence regarding various aspects of the claim
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while expediting claims and adhering to fair claims’ settlement practices
  • Conclude claims in compliance with all state rules and regulations, in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and requirements, provisions of policy contracts, and company standards
  • Maintain continuing education (CE) requirements for state licensing

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of claims handling, construction, or alike work experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4-year completed degree in related field (Criminal Justice, Insurance and Risk Management, Business, Communications)
  • Currently hold an active (Texas) adjuster license or willingness to obtain following date of hire
    • (American National will incur all fees associated/No out of pocket expenses)
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate or alike estimating program(s)
  • Understanding of statutes, case laws, and policy contracts
  • Passion to provide the highest quality of customer service
  • Effective and organized multi-tasker, with the ability to focus when items require your undivided attention for review
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Ability to effectively manage time and provide appropriate follow-up
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to navigate various computer programs simultaneously on dual computer monitors, while utilizing noted applications (Microsoft Office and internal systems)
