Underwriting Manager
Are you an underwriting professional who has successfully led teams or prepared to? The American National Property and Casualty Underwriting Department is seeking a full time Underwriting Manager to elevate organizational goals and bring fresh ideas to current processes and procedures.
How will you make an impact?
• Oversee a territory underwriting team, responsible for effective business operations that include business growth, profitability, and policy retention
• Partner with leadership team(s) to support open communication that is focused on increasing/enhancing productivity, improving workflow processes, and maintaining/sustaining positive morale
• Provide recommendations on underwriting philosophies and guidelines for risk assessment and selection
• Analyze renewal books of business and determine sustainability
• Evaluate referrals and determine appropriate measures
Required qualifications:
• Proficiency in commercial lines (Agriculture lines of business beneficial but not required)
• Underwriting skills
• Demonstrated skills in leading teams (Will consider underwriting professionals who have completed developmental courses, designations, led/participated in projects, and have a willingness to travel onsite for initial training if applicable)
• Available to work onsite at either the Texas, New York, or Missouri campus. Please discuss with your recruiter.
• Ability to travel, required (Field visits, conferences, campus visits)
Salary for this position can range from $97246.50 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $145860.00 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
