Complex Claims Specialist

American National is seeking a Bodily Injury Specialist to investigate, negotiate, and settle complex and high exposure personal auto bodily injury claims. The individual selected should have liability claims adjusting experience, a solid understanding of the claims handling process, and both strong injury evaluation and successful negotiation skills to thrive in this role. 


What You'll Do

 

•    Manage a pending of personal automobile bodily injury claims
•    Provide exceptional customer service, including timely direct contact and promotion of professional relationships 
•    Analyze coverage issues, complete thorough investigations and properly evaluate liability and damages
•    Read and interpret complex, multifaceted legal/medical documents and properly evaluate both liability and injury values. 
•    Maintain timely and proper file documentation and establish and maintain proper reserves
•    Recognize complex issues that require effective presentation to management, attorneys, and internal committee(s)
•    Negotiate loss settlements based upon the review of all facts.
•    Draft professional written correspondence regarding various aspects of the claim
•    Comply with the Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act, insurance laws, and regulations in all states assigned
•    Complete ongoing continuing education to maintain active adjuster license(s)

 

What You'll Need


•    Five years’ + claims handling experience (Including bodily injury)
•    Experience handling high severity and complex bodily injury and property damage claims including those triggering excess umbrella coverage
•    Experience handling liability claims in a large territory to include multiple states and jurisdictions including the Northeastern states   
•    Established negotiation skills and experience attending mediations
•    Technical skill set in Guidewire or alike claims management system
•    Understanding of statutes, case laws, and policy contracts
•    Currently hold an appropriate state adjuster license or willingness to obtain following date of hire (American National will incur fees associated / No out of pocket expenses) 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a high attention to detail and follow-up

 

 

 

Salary for this position can range from $73612.50 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $110409.00 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
