This role is responsible for asset and reinvestment modeling on the modeling team.  The modeling team assists in ALM and internal projections, asset adequacy testing, model development, and generally supports the modeling needs of the life and annuity product lines. 

 

This position is available in Houston, TX, League City, TX or Galveston, TX.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain asset and reinvestment modeling in GGY Axis
  • Propose assumptions, settings and methodology for asset and reinvestment modeling
  • Explain economic sensitivities and results to senior management
  • Maintain and enhance a strong control framework and model governance
  • Collaborate with other actuarial teams on complex initiatives, including PBR, AAT, and AG53
  • Managing and leading a team of actuaries to include providing guidance and direction, driving strong performance, and developing the talent on the team


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10 to 12 years of experience.
  • Five to 10 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • FSA
    • Demonstrated experience in modeling assets for ALM and CFT
    • Prior experience with multiple asset classes including alternative investments
    • GGY AXIS experience
    • Ability to present and explain results to senior management
    • Experience leading a team and collaborating with others
    • Proven insurance business knowledge
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
    • Ability to lead and develop an engaged, high performing team of actuaries
