Financial Reporting Director
The American National Finance Department is seeking a full-time, Financial Reporting Director to effectively support and lead high priority initiatives. Your experience in public auditing, participation in year-end closings, and the ability to effectively evaluate internal controls will directly enhance organizational goals.
Onsite Placement Locations: Houston, League City, and Galveston Texas
How will you make an impact?
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the timely completion of annual audits
- Apply public audit experience to assess internal controls, identify potential risks, and recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of financial reporting procedures
- Develop and implement process improvements, and internal control enhancements to streamline financial reporting and strengthen the control environment
- Prepare and analyze periodic financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and other applicable regulations
- Assess the effectiveness of the financial reporting procedures and identify areas of improvement
- Oversee the quality and accuracy of responses to audit inquiries with the goal to reduce follow up requests
- Ensure both accuracy and completeness of financial data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
- Relevant insurance industry experience that includes financial reporting
- CPA designation is highly preferred
- Public audit and internal control experience
