The Sr. Scrum Master role will coordinate a cross-functional Agile development team utilizing the principles and tools of the Scrum Framework. Assuming a servant leadership role, the Sr. Scrum Master will support the execution of Scrum projects by identifying and removing impediments to project success. A successful incumbent in this role should be highly independent and will be able to effectively lead the requisite Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, of simple to highly complex projects with minimal supervision.

 

What Will You Do?

 

  • Partner with Project Sponsor and other key stakeholders to ensure transparency into delivery progress, challenges, and risks.
  • Represent the team at broader planning and coordination sessions (e.g., Scrum of Scrums).
  • Independently lead the scrum team to improve collaboration and self-management, promoting healthy interactions both within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship to Junior Scrum Masters and occasionally serve as Agile Coach to for simple to moderately complex scrum teams
  • Lead the team to improve collaboration and self-management, promoting healthy interactions both within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Support the team in using agile planning and development tools (Azure DevOps).
  • Actively participate in internal communities of practice/Center of Excellence to improve skills to better support the team.
  • Utilize team feedback and metrics (e.g., quality, delivery, cadence, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and work with team to continuously improve.
  • Contribute to the advancement and improvement of agile practices within the organization

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Six to eight years of experience.
  • A-CSM or PSM II, and SAFe SM certification qualification or ability to receive within the first six months of employment o Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum practices, frameworks, and techniques
  • Proven track record for successfully leading midsize to large projects with high degrees of complexity o Must have strong communication and people skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Expertise in utilizing Azure DevOps to manage projects
  • Experience managing large-scale Agile projects utilizing multiple scrum teams and/or release trains
  • SAFe Scrum Master Certification
  • High-Level understanding of traditional project management patterns
  • Experience in Financial Services and/or Insurance Industries
