Associate Underwriter
No insurance experience–No problem! If you are analytical, have strong attention to detail, possess the ability to make sound decisions, and have an innate ability to negotiate; Underwriting Support encourages you to begin your career with American National as an Associate Underwriter. Associates are vital to the organization, managing front-line communication with the field force to build and maintain solid professional relationships. The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator who is comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, is an effective multi-tasker, and enjoys collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Assess and determine policy level decisions within established guidelines

  • Process various policy level transactions within specified timeframes

  • Maintain effective and collaborative communication with agents as it relates to the initial issuance or amendments to policies

  • Maintain ongoing communication with various departments within the company

     

Qualifications

  • High school diploma / (2) year degree preferred

  • Prior work experience in customer service / administration position preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced / stimulating work environment

  • Desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals

  • Strong aptitude for research, detail, and negotiation

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
