Claims Specialist - Property

 

Are you ready to take the next step in your claims adjusting career? As a full-time Claims Specialist, you will primarily manage first party personal lines residential claims that are of moderate to higher level complexity, with no liability. To thrive in this role, you should have property claims handling and/or construction experience, estimating knowledge or the aptitude to learn, possess a sense of urgency, and place high importance on the client experience. 

 

What You'll Do
 
•    Conduct phone interviews and investigations to determine damages
•    Review loss notices and complex policy forms to determine proper coverage, contact clients, investigate the facts surrounding the loss, while complying and understanding compliance of Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act, insurance laws, and regulations in all states assigned
•    Review and recognize complex issues that require presentation to management, in-house counsel, defense counsel, and internal committee
•    Establish and maintain proper reserves
•    Determine the appropriate method of inspection for loss
•    Complete ongoing continuing education to maintain active adjuster license(s)

 

What You'll Need

 

•    Property claims handling and/or strong construction background
•    Strong negotiating skills 
•    Currently hold an appropriate state adjuster license or obtain following date of hire (American National will incur fees associated / No out of pocket expenses) 

 

What Will Set You Apart

 

•    Three+ years' property claims handling experience 
•    Understand coverage(s), including debris removal, trees, shrubs, plants, housing code upgrades, other structures, contents, and additional living expenses
•    Working knowledge of Xactimate or alike estimating programs
•    Understanding of statutes, case laws, and policy contracts

 

 

 

Salary for this position can range from $50914.50 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $63,648.00 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
