The Actuarial Project Manager is responsible for high-priority strategic projects, within the Assumptions Setting team. In this position you will focus on achieving business results, which often require considerable resources and high levels of collaboration. The Actuarial Project Manager manages moderately complex projects from original concept through final implementation.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead strategic management and innovation processes to objectively organize facts, define problems, analyze alternatives, and plan action items.
  • Develop objectives and action plans for putting strategies in place.
  • Develop evaluation and control mechanisms for assessing strategy performance results.
  • Partner with actuarial leaders to facilitate the development of the project plan.
  • Manage project execution to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Create project status reports to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Manage changes to project to ensure deliverables remain aligned with project goals.
  • Position project team for success by ensuring risks are mitigated and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage project close-out to ensure all project items are complete.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four to six years of experience.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Must have strong communication, organization, and relationship skills.
    • Proven experience managing complex projects with tight timelines.
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the ability to interact effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
    • Ability to present results to and obtain consensus and approval for recommended actions from senior management and other key stakeholders.
    • Proven experience managing multiple simultaneous projects with varying deadlines and priorities.
    • Knowledge of life and annuity products
    • Knowledge of actuarial processes
    • Excellent MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills; strong skill in developing quality presentations
