As an Annuity Product Intelligence Specialist at American National you will be primarily focused on improving our understanding of the annuity competitive marketplace. You will become an expert on the current state of the market by understanding and effectively communicating the pricing, benefits, and features of competitor’s annuity products. This role is a key point of contact for market intelligence and analysis to determine future target markets and growth opportunities for our organization.
 

Please note this is an in-office position, available at our Galveston, TX and League City, TX (South Shore Harbor) offices.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Maintains standardized monthly reports for annuity lines of business to measure and monitor sales and competitiveness of product development initiatives
  • Researches and analyzes competitors’ annuity products, including the creation of side-by-side comparisons of benefits, features, and pricing
  • Utilizes industry reporting tools to review and summarize a competitor’s market share and performance of annuity business
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for competitor information including features, benefits, policy language, and competitor strategy
  • Analyzes lines of business results to identify trends and issues and work with product management team to address
  • Makes recommendations for development of product enhancements based on competitor and field review
  • Works with marketing to identify areas of focus and opportunity

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity in VBA, Python and/or R 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple leaders and groups across the organization.
