American National is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Building Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance and repair of our facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment. Your leadership and technical expertise will contribute to maintaining a comfortable and functional environment for our occupants.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead and guide a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring work quality.
  • Routine Inspections and Repairs: Conduct regular inspections of building systems, identify issues, and perform necessary repairs promptly.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations (e.g., power outages, leaks, equipment failures) and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • HVAC Systems: Oversee heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Electrical and Plumbing: Troubleshoot electrical and plumbing problems, repair or replace components, and maintain records.
  • Life Safety Systems: Monitor fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Budget and Inventory: Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment manuals.
  • Compliance and Codes: Stay informed about local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A two-year trade school certificate in relevant fields (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven work experience as a maintenance engineer, with advanced knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Certifications: Relevant state/local licenses (stationary engineering, HVAC) and OSHA/ACM awareness training.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read schematics, troubleshoot complex systems, and perform hands-on repairs.
  • Leadership: Experience leading a maintenance team and coordinating tasks effectively.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, occupants, and external partners.
