Manager, Financial Reporting

The American National Finance Department is seeking a full-time, Financial Reporting Manager to effectively support and lead high priority initiatives. *Actively* pursuing industry professionals prepared for the next career step. Onsite, Placement Location: League City, Texas
Relocation assistance will be evaluated accordingly.


What will you do?
Collaborate with senior leaders to facilitate the timely completion of financial reports
Assist with the coordination of month end close process
Actively oversee work performance of four team members
Develop and implement process improvements, and internal control enhancements to streamline financial reporting and strengthen the control environment
Prepare and analyze periodic financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulations
Work closely with other areas and facilitate data flow throughout the organization to ensure timely and accurate execution of duties
Assess the effectiveness of the financial reporting procedures and identify areas of improvement
Oversee the quality and accuracy of responses to audit inquiries with the goal to reduce follow up requests
Ensure both accuracy and completeness of financial data
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferred
Insurance experience, preferred
Big-four audit experience within the industry, preferred
CPA designation or active pursuit is strongly preferred
Availability to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods
