We are seeking an experienced, Plan Consultant to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for providing qualified plan administration to fee for service clients; and directing the workload and training individuals who are providing administrative service. This position is available onsite at our League City, TX (SSH) location. 


 
What You'll Do: 

  • Responsible for completing the annual valuation, which includes determining eligibility, reconciliation of salary-deferral contributions, calculation/allocations of employer contributions/forfeitures, and performing nondiscrimination testing
  • Responsible for completing annual government filing accurately and timely
  • Responsible for communication with agents and plan sponsors regarding the administration of the plan, which includes explaining plan document provisions (eligibility and employer contribution calculations), nondiscrimination testing results, website access, and contract fees
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of pension administration software, which includes following department procedures
  • Responsible for supervising team’s workload to ensure all work is requested from plan sponsor and completed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for training staff in all phases of plan administration and regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for maintaining current, up-to-date knowledge on legislative and regulatory changes, and conducting periodic review sessions to update staff on such changes
  • Responsible for researching legal and technical questions from the staff, the marketing area, agents, and clients as they relate to the ongoing administration of plans
  • Responsible for formulating and implementing the procedures in plan administration as changes warrant

 

What You'll Need: 

  • High school diploma.
  • Eight to ten years of experience with qualified retirement plans (defined benefit and defined contribution).
  • American Society of Pension, Professionals, and Actuaries (ASPPA) designation (QKA, QPA, CPC, APA)
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Sound mathematical background and computer skills. 
    • Must be analytical, organized, self-motivated and have the ability to multitask and work in a team-oriented environment
