Purpose of the Job:


This position is filled by a fully trained application developer. The entry-level associate programmer is eligible for this position after two to five years on the job. The incumbent applies both technical concepts and skills and knowledge of the company’s internal policies and procedures to complete assignments and solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways.


Essential Functions: 


• Communicates fluently with the business representatives.
• Understands business requirements and is able to relate these to the supporting system 
requirements, producing simple technical specifications for the work to be done.
• Codes readable, reliable and maintainable programs in any of a variety of languages on multiple 
platforms necessary to support the team’s assigned systems.
• Performs unit and system testing using test plans and scripts approved by the business.
• Reviews test results with the business and makes the necessary adjustments to the deliverable.
• Obtains approval and migrate deliverables to the locked-up production environment.
• Records the time and status to the appropriate projects or support activity for billing.
• Responds promptly to production issues by serving an on-call rotation for the24-hour support of 
the team’s systems.
• Demonstrates the documented Corporate Technology Services values and behaviors.


Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree.
• Three or more years of experience.


Specific Technical Requirements:

 

  • Fluency in coding and understanding SQL on both mainframe and distributed platforms
  • Fluency in multiple programming languages such as Java and C# .Net
  • Familiarity with conceptual data modeling design of relational databases across DBMSs such as SQL Server and Db2 
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) such as creating services and building APIs

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Familiarity with COBOL and building Db2 stored procedures
  • Experience with SOA governance and integration tools such as IBM’s API Connect or App Connect Enterprise (ACE/IIB)
  • Experience designing or working with Operational Data Stores and exposing that data via API service layers
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture concepts including Application Architecture, Data Architecture, and Business Architecture 

 

Salary for this position can range from $70,052 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $105,077 for more highly qualified candidates.  Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education.
