Claims Representative (Auto)

The Auto Claims Department is seeking a full-time team member, who is passionate about the client experience with or without insurance knowledge. Responsibilities:

  • Manage claims that are less complex, typically one vehicle losses (Hit and run(s) Hail damage, and Deer vehicle hits)
  • Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of auto claims
  • Partner closely with other departments, vendors, and defense counsel, when-applicable, throughout the claim process
  • Analyze coverage, make contacts, investigate facts surrounding the loss, and arrange inspection, experts, and third parties when applicable
  • Negotiate loss settlements and determine the appropriate method of inspection and/or the appropriate claim decision based on the review of facts
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while expediting claims and adhering to the fair claims’ settlement practices
  • Work within multiple systems such as Fusion (Primary claims system) estimating systems, tracking systems, and workflow systems
  • Enter data into appropriate systems to establish liability based upon the review of facts
  • Understand and comply with insurance regulations, statutes, and case law accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and requirements, provisions of policy contracts, and company standards

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year completed degree in related field (Criminal Justice/Insurance and Risk Management/Business/Communications) or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Currently hold an active (Texas) adjuster license or have interest in obtaining following date of hire (American National will incur fees associated/ No out of pocket expenses)
  • Work experience in customer service, claims handling, or insurance work experience, preferred
  • Must be an effective and organized multi-tasker, with the ability to focus when items require your undivided attention for review
  • Must be comfortable managing difficult conversations with ease and confidence, with a positive and friendly disposition
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and organizational skills
  • Must have the aptitude to navigate various computer programs simultaneously, on dual monitors (Including-Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
  • High attention to detail and follow-up, required
  • Passion to provide the highest quality of customer service to clients-possessing pride when managing ownership of phone calls from start-finish
