Claims Representative


As an Entry Level Claims Representative, you will work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where claim information must be processed quickly, accurately, and efficiently. You will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and settlement of claims. This includes analyzing and determining coverage, conducting thorough claim investigations, evaluating the overall claim, and communicating promptly with internal and external parties. Adjusters are required to understand and comply with insurance regulations, state statutes, policy provisions, and case law accordingly. 
 
What You'll Do
 
•    Manage claims from various books of business, including RealPage, GAP, & Collateral Protection
•    Manage a high volume of claims while maintaining appropriate documentation of all claim files and, at the same time, adhering to established quality standards and turnaround performance guarantees
•    Evaluate investigation results and handle claims to finality within designated settlement authority and claims management guidelines
•    Conduct research by email and phone with a variety of people (internal and external) to gather information necessary to continue or complete the review of a claim
•    Draft professionally written correspondence regarding various aspects of the claim
•    Maintain current claim diary, workplan, and activities via the claims systems
•    Document and communicate claim status and decisions in a clear and organized manner to all interested parties, to include providing appropriate explanations for claim denials
•    Recognize and properly address coverage issues and potential fraud, and determine when to escalate concerns to the appropriate level of management
•    Demonstrate in-depth understanding of coverage issues, policy forms, contracts, privacy regulations, and regulatory requirements to include the Unfair Claims Practices Act
•    Handle incoming calls to assist claimants, financial institutions, and agents
•    Exercise an innovative mind-set; look for ways to improve claim efficiencies and outcomes

 

What You’ll Need

 

•    A minimum of 1 year of professional work experience
•    Strong time management and organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage a claim inventory independently with limited supervision
•    Strong investigative, analytical, negotiation, and good judgement/decision-making skills
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Must be able to maintain confidential information
•    Proficient computer and accurate keyboard skills in utilizing computer applications such as MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
