Management Systems Consultant



  • Process owner for regulatory change management process within claims.  Collaboration with legal, compliance, claims management, claims adjusters, training department and peers in other areas like product development, actuarial and underwriting.
  • Formulate and analyze Underwriting, Claims and other organizational data for the purpose of identifying and correcting processes that produce indemnity and/or expense payment leakage. The data will be used to facilitate better management decisions, assist in review and management of substantiated financial controls and to create effective work measurement standards.
  • Formulate procedures to collect, record, and tabulate special statistical studies requested by various departments, our agents within the American National family, attorneys or state governmental agencies.
  • Assist in defining needs or problems, conduct studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyze data to advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, or technology of specific discipline/specialization.
  • Evaluate and identify barriers to processes that hinder effective productivity and provide assistance and techniques to help with reengineering processes
  • Analyze necessary business or operating procedures to devise most efficient methods of accomplishing work.
  • Plan study of work problems and procedures, such as process changes, communications, information flow, integrated production methods, work flow, or cost analysis.
  • Gather and organize information on problem or procedures including present operating procedures.
  • Analyzes data gathered, develops information and considers available solutions or alternate methods of proceeding.
  • Analyze and document findings of studies and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures or changes.
  • Communicate with concerned customers to assure smooth functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures and insure that information is shared across all functional areas of the business.
  • Facilitate and assist in developing and implementing strategies and programs centered around and measuring effectiveness and efficiency and identify ineffectiveness through both objective and perceptual data collection and develop metrics for these measurements.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for collection and measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development.
  • Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
  • Communicate with all functional/departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development and to ensure they are fully informed and provide appropriate interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or related business experience.
  • Must have at least 10 years of Insurance experience.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must since there is much interaction with various departments and the individual in this position must be able to facilitate and solicit cooperation from people from various and all levels of experience and aid others both senior and junior.
  • High knowledge level regarding insurance operations and processes.  Familiarity with legal, regulatory process surrounding insurance regulation.
  • Familiarity with market conduct examination process.
  • Manage and lead change on specified initiatives related to quality assurance and or regulatory change implementation.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for projects as needed.
  • Familiarity with or ability to gain understanding of research such as Lexis/Nexis as a research tool
  • Data compilation must be complimented by the ability to interpret and analyze.
  • Must be highly organized, self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and corporate objectives.
  • A high degree of creativity is necessary for this position requiring excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently through self-motivation and is reliable, tolerant, and determined.
  • Must be able to maintain flexible work schedule as system resource requirements and availability may require programming beyond normal workday and workweek hours
