The Underwriting Systems team is seeking a self-motivated liaison who is desiring to be a subject matter expert and enjoys the challenge of research, providing resolution or extending opportunity for solution, to positively represent the department.  


Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing knowledge in auto, home, rental owner, business owner, boat, recreational vehicle, motorcycle, and all other lines of business
  • Utilize knowledge to test software applications and programs to identify errors and system issues prior to implementation
  • Serve as a liaison between Underwriting and Computer Technology Services
  • Monitor current underwriting systems in place to ensure accuracy
  • Manage and triage incoming requests, researching issues as they arise to identify the “why” and correct accordingly


The most successful candidate must thrive in a research-focused, detail-oriented, fast-paced, business liaison role, and possess the below qualifications / attributes for consideration:


  • 4 year completed degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Direct work experience as an Associate Underwriter or Underwriter
  • Strong technical aptitude - familiarity with underwriting systems and processes
  • Have knowledge with policy forms and assigned coverages
  • Excellent verbal and wirtten communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership
  • Possess ability to directly interact with primary client group(s) including (Corporate Technology Services and American National agents)
  • Possess effective conflict resolution abilities
  • Maintain positive disposition and be open to ongoing education and development
